  • Also don't miss Daniel Wakin's write-up of the dispute between Hélène Grimaud and conductor Claudio Abbado, over which cadenza to include in her recording of a Mozart concerto. I have to say that I think Abbado is right, in that Mozart's cadenza would be preferable to the one by Busoni. However, the choice of a cadenza really is the soloist's prerogative: if Abbado could not convince Grimaud of his point of view, he should have let her play Busoni. [New York Times]

  • Watch Janine Jansen and Jean-Christophe Spinosi in a concert of Rameau, Handel, Mozart, and others. [ARTE Live Web]
